Good evening, Wildwinds Members –
The Competition Committee has been hard at work creating some new documentation that the club will begin to use to help govern play. Thank you to the committee members as this will be very helpful moving forward.
Please review the attached documents, and contact the Competition Committee if you have questions.
Thank you,
Wildwinds Management

Hopefully you’re all back up and running after the CrowdStrike outage yesterday … The “Major Championship” format this week posed a challenge for some, and unfortunately, not even a major IT outage could’ve improved the odds out there.
The results for July 18th are attached and available in the League Portal. They’ll also be posted on the board in the pro shop. Don’t forget to claim your prize at the front desk!
Next week, we revisit the “2-Man Best Ball (Random Draw)” format from mid-June. I’ll send a reminder of the format before Thursday.
Enjoy your weekend!

A new element has been added to the results…. Team Scoring. This is the average of all that played for each team. Four points are awarded to the Winner, three for the Runner-Up etc. Not to put too much pressure on your game, but be aware that every score is included in this challenge. A team prize will be awarded at the end of the season. Good luck!

Last week’s contest was a primer for our “League Championship” in August. After collecting scores for the 11th, the group of participants was split into A, B, and C flights based on League handicap. We had 52 players, and thus three flights of approximately 17 golfers.
The results for July 11th will be posted on the board in the pro shop. Don’t forget to claim your prize at the front desk!
This week, we’ll set our sights on Royal Troon. Since most of you won’t be making the trip across the pond, we’re revisiting our Major Championship format. Trever and team will again give us some challenging pin locations, and players will play back one tee box. This should make for a fun week, considering we’re on the front 9, and the black tees are often on a separate deck.
A reminder of this format will be on the front desk on Thursday.
See you then!

Hello members,
Now that we are into July, Club Championship Weekend is just around the corner! Those of you that have participated in previous years know that it is a great 2-day event with a bit more of a competitive feel.
Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th will see tee times beginning at 7:00am and running until all registrants have gone out (depending on how many register).
The event will be a flighted, 2-day stroke play tournament. Winners will be determined by a total score over the 2 days. Last year’s flights were as follows:
Men’s Championship Flight (Black Tee’s)
Men’s “A” Flight (Blue Tee’s)
Men’s “B” Flight (Blue Tee’s)
Men’s “C” Flight (Blue Tee’s)
Men’s “D” Flight (Blue Tee’s)
Women’s Championship Flight (Red Tee’s)
Men’s Senior Championship Flight (White Tee’s)
Men’s Senior “A” Flight (White Tee’s)
Men’s Senior “B” Flight (White Tee’s)
Men’s Super Senior Championship Flight (White Tee’s)
Flights will be determined by your Golf Canada handicaps, which will be required, except for the Championship Flights. If you do not have a registered Golf Canada handicap, and want to participate, contact the Pro Shop to get set up.
The Championship Flights are open flights and can be participated in by anyone.
Senior flights will be based on age. We will have a Senior Flight (age 55-64) and a Super Senior Flight (age 65 and over).
Registration sheets are in the Proshop. The registration deadline will be Sunday, July 21st at 6:00pm with no exceptions!

A great day to play … I hope all enjoyed the outing.
Participation was 68.2%. of all those that are registered.
Congratulations to all the winners.
Please note that all now have a handicap so all are now in the mix to win weekly prizes.
FYI The adjustments are mostly based on scores in 2024. These will be further adjusted throughout the season based on future performance.
A good statistic that is useful to keep in mind is that you should shoot your handicap or better roughly 40% of the time you play!?
Attached is the pdf with the specific performance of each player…. for the number crunchers out there.
Play well and do not forget to have fun!

This week’s contest was Stableford. As a reminder, points were awarded (based on your net hole score) as follows:
Double Bogey+: 0 Points
Bogey: 1 Point
Par: 2 Points
Birdie: 3 Points
Eagle: 4 Points
Albatross: 5 Points
Our winner, Kevin Shannon, recorded the only net albatross this week – Nice work!
Next week will be a test-run for our “Championship” format — Low Gross (Flighted). Flights will be established after rounds are completed, depending on participation.

Good morning, all!
My apologies for not getting the June 11th scores posted on the website until today (the 29th). Many of you have already seen these results, but for consistency, here they are for your future reference!
Have a great long weekend!
