LIGHTNING POLICY – Wildwinds Golf Links is fully aware of approaching weather and monitors the weather patterns on a consistent basis. When there is lightning detected our horn will be sounded by a course employee. Please note that COMMON SENSE DOES PREVAIL when working with Mother Nature and ALL golfers on the course MUST immediately seek shelter at the Wildwinds Club House when there are storm clouds in the area.
The sound you will hear is:
LONG, SOLID TONE, FOG HORN
YOU MUST CLEAR THE COURSE AND SEEK SHELTER IN OUR CLUBHOUSE IMMEDIATELY
Players MUST stay in the Clubhouse until Management has decided that play is clear to resume.
We must stress: Common sense should always prevail, if you hear thunder or see lightning but do not hear the detection system sirens, proceed to the nearest shelter (Clubhouse) until instructed to resume play.
There can be NO EXCEPTIONS to this procedure. Storms always pass and your golf game will always be there to return to.
Thank you for your understanding with our Lightning Policy.
See you on The Links,
Jon Jeffries,
General Manager
