Good evening, Wildwinds Men’s League!

⛳ August 14th League results are below. It took a bit longer to get scores together this week, as there was a bit more math involved. I hope you all enjoyed changing things up a bit!

🏌️This week (August 21st) is our Men’s League Championship. To ensure there’s no confusion, this is NOT the year-end two-player scramble event (that will happen sometime in September – more details to come).

Format for this week is Low Gross – Flighted. We’ve played this format before, but this week, flights will be set based on your league handicap, as follows:

• Flight A: 0-5
• Flight B: 6-9
• Flight C: 10-13
• Flight D: 14+

If you’re curious where you’re sitting, check out the attached “Scoring Detail” sheet, which lists everyone’s handicap. Prizes for this week will be awarded at the year-end event in September.

🏎️ Trever and his crew are busy getting prepped for this weekend’s Wildwinds Club Championships. By Thursday, we should have freshly painted hazard boundaries (which I hope you all avoid), and the greens are likely to be turned up a couple clicks on the stimpmeter.

🏌️We’ll be serving up a new event this week: 2-Man Best-Ball (Pick Your Pro). More details to come this week …

🗓️ Keep in mind — August 21st is our League Championship. This will be in a typical “Club Championship” format, with Gross scoring and flights based on your league handicaps. Special prizes will be awarded at our year-end banquet in September. Details about this event will be coming soon!

⛳ July 31st Stableford results are attached and are also available on the Wildwinds Men’s League Portal. Special shout-out to Erik Vallesi, who carded a Hole-In-One on #3. With the 10 Stableford points awarded for his accomplishment (per the weekly format), he is also this week’s winner – Congrats, Erik!

🏌️This week we’ll return to Low Net scoring this week, before things start getting interesting in the coming weeks. Looks like a great weather week — just in time to start getting sharp for our League Championship (August 21st)!

Men’s League Results – July 24th, 2025

Good morning, Wildwinds Men’s League –

Hope you all had a great weekend! 

🥵 It was another scorcher out there last Thursday. Back that up with some big storms moving through the area, we were pleased to see that over 50% of you were able to make it out for your League rounds.

⛳ July 24th results are attached.

🏌️The Stableford standings are heating up, and this coming week (July 31th) we will focus in there: It’s Stableford night! No gross/net winners — just points acquired based on your net hole score to par. Most points win the night! Stableford rounds change the strategy, rewarding those birdies and eagles. So — as our buddy John Daly (anybody seen Happy Gilmore 2 yet??) would say — “Grip it, and rip it!”

Good evening, Wildwinds Men’s League!

A bit delayed on scoring this week – I was out of town last week, and I’m just getting around to pulling all the results together. Thanks for your patience!

⛳ July 17th League results are below. This past week featured the ‘Long’ version of our Low Net scoring. Despite the challenge, we had a few low scores posted!

🏌️This week (July 24th) is back to the basics – standard Low Net, with hole prizes and cleaners. Looks like another hot round ahead of us!

Men’s League Results – July 10th, 2025

Good morning, Wildwinds Men’s League!

☀️ Hot one out there this past Thursday! Just over 50% of the League toughed it out this week for the Low Gross (Flighted) event.

⛳ July 10th League results are attached and are also available on the Wildwinds Men’s League Portal. You’ll note that this week we did not have hole contests. This was to accommodate the larger number of flights (7).

🏌️This week is another Major Tournament week! That mind, you’ll need to channel your inner Royal Portrush as we stretch the course out, playing the long version of our Low Net format. I’ll send a reminder of the particulars later this week.

☀️ Thursday was a beauty day for golf! It was great to see a big turnout this week. This week’s format was a little different — hopefully you all enjoyed the different opportunities to play holes longer or shorter than you may otherwise.

Men’s League Results – June 26th, 2025

Good morning, Wildwinds Men’s League!

☔ Dodging rain again this week … Fortunately, things cleared up for the evening rounds! This week, we had a new format – the 2-man Best Ball (Random Draw). After completing your rounds, I generated random pairings and used each player’s net hole scores to determine the team score. The team with the lowest net score was the winner. Note — if you are unhappy with your pairing, you can blame ChatGPT …
